Decap Attack

Professor Frank N. Stein, miserable hunchback Igor, amnesiac monster Chuck and long-suffering Head - a skull into which the Prof put all the bits of brain that didn't fit into Chuck's own bonce. The bats were supporting cast and the pumpkins recurring enemies - I did consider including Mr Cuddle Bunny and the Blockbusters contestant too.

Based loosely on an obscure Megadrive platform game, Decap Attack was an absurdist comic that ran in Fleetway's Sonic the Comic back in the 1990s. It was an oddity from the word 'go' - a daft horror sitcom among a raft of action and adventure strips. Later STC ditched all its game adaptations entirely in exclusive favour of strips exploring the world of Sonic, which made Decap even more of an oddity because it was the only non-Sonic strip to survive. Mad as a box of frogs but always required reading.
